BitMEX has rolled out a major refresh of its mobile app, introducing a cleaner design and a new interaction model to help traders respond faster on the go. The update delivers a more focused interface, faster order flows, and gesture-based controls that make it easier to manage positions in high-pressure moments.

“The redesigned BitMEX Mobile app represents an important step in our commitment to provide traders with faster, clearer, and more intuitive tools,” said Stephan Lutz, CEO of BitMEX. “We built this experience to match the pace and precision our users demand, and to simplify how they interact with the full power of BitMEX.”

The new layout cuts visual noise and puts information hierarchy front and center. Traders now get a lighter interface with clearer entry points into markets, positions, and account actions. One of the standout changes is “Swipe to Close,” a gesture that lets users close a position with a single motion—something BitMEX says reflects how many mobile-first traders already interact with financial apps.

The Quick Trade process has been rebuilt as well, streamlining order entry so users spend less time tapping through screens and more time executing with clarity. The update also introduces a simplified KYC flow, one-click fiat-to-crypto purchases, and easier navigation across markets through gestures. Access to more than 80 derivatives contracts remains available with low latency, along with trading bots, copy trading, instant crypto buys, and zero-fee crypto conversions.

“We see mobile trading as central to the future of derivatives markets,” Lutz said. “Derivatives trading relies on precision and fast decision-making, and a well-designed mobile experience can support that. This upgrade lays the groundwork for a smarter and more seamless environment, and we will continue to refine every detail that helps traders act with confidence in real time.”

BitMEX says this update is the start of a broader product refresh that will roll out over the coming months. The company plans to continue improving execution, simplify complexity where possible, and expand access to advanced trading tools for users worldwide.

The exchange continues to highlight its security record as a key part of its pitch. Since launch, BitMEX has not lost any cryptocurrency due to intrusion or hacking. The platform was also an early adopter of on-chain Proof of Reserves and Proof of Liabilities, which it continues to publish twice each week. The company positions this transparency as a foundation for traders who want assurance that funds remain fully backed and properly segregated.

BitMEX, often described as the OG of crypto derivatives, is leveraging that history as it modernizes its user experience. The mobile relaunch signals a push to bring longtime traders and new entrants into a faster, clearer experience that aligns with the instincts people already have on their phones.
